According to the Entertainment Software Association 2010 statistics, gaming is no longer an activity just for the kids:

* The average age of a gamer is 34 years old and has been playing for twelve years.

* The fastest growing demographic for gamers is Women over 18 years of age. In fact 40% of all players are women. Apparently adult women reflect a larger percentage of the gaming population than boys under 17.

* The over 50 crowd are getting into gaming as well, with 26% being active participants compared to nine percent less than that in 1999.

* Sixty-seven percent of homes in America own either a console and/or PC used to run entertainment software.
